many cell-cell interactions that occur during embryonic

development.Three TGFBetas have been identified in

mammals. TGFBeta1,TGFBeta2 and TGFBeta3 are

eachsynthesized as precursor proteinsthat are very

similar inthat each is cleaved to yield a 112 amino

acidpolypeptidethat remains associated with the

latentportion of themolecule.TGFB1 Human

Recombinantproduced inHuman 293 cells is a

homodimeric pol-peptide chaincontaining 2 x 112

amino acids andhaving a totalmolecular mass of

25kDa. The TGFB1is purified byproprietary

chromatographic techniques.
